HEAVY DUTY AND HIGH QUALITY -- PARTS MADE IN CANADA AND/OR U. CONDITION AND HISTORY: This lamp is used, VINTAGE, but still in 100% OK working condition, and in excellent physical condition. It will show some marks on the wood base, but it can be repainted properly, so this lamp will look near perfect. 2 of the 3 included MOGUL E39 light bulbs appear to be NEW but have no original packaging. The 3rd one is more used. All 3 are different models, have been tested, and still work great. HISTORY: All my family has been in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Québec, Canada, since the 1940s.

The city of Dorion has been inaugurated in 1891, after Canadian Pacific station opened in 1885, on the regional railway between Montréal and Ottawa. Small hotels, and cottages started to be built around the station, as well as along the shore of Lac-des-Deux-Montagnes (lake). One very rich man acquired or enhirited a large portion of the land between the lake shore and the railway, and even beyond, and built his house on the main street somewhere in the early 20th Century. For instance, his son had the main convenience store for decades, up until the 90s!

The lamp was part of the family original living room / dining room furniture set from the 1930s or so, installed in the rich man's house. I'm too young to know more details about the origins of this furniture set, but during the 30s, up until the 70s, he divided his huge land, and a developer started to build houses. My family house, built in 1933 was one of the first houses on the main street, and my grand-parents moved in around 1941 or so, and then my father, the youngest of the family was born there in 1945. In the meantime, the rich man living almost in front of our family house continued to sell his lands and develop streets up to the railway including a school and utility buildings...

In 1987, my parents bought the complete furniture set from the rich man as he was too old to stay in his original house. I was 16 then, and I remember my father restoring all the pieces of furniture, including luxury dish cabinets, dining table and chairs. He also made sure the lamp is in great working condition, but he never ended up repainting or restoring the wood base, so it's still as it originally was in the 1930s. In the last 35 to 40 years, the lamp has not been used much. I used it from time to time, and it's been in storage in the basement for the last 25 years or so.

Sadly, my father passed away in 2021, so we are finding a new good home for our family items.. You can easily rescrew each part in place for easy installation. YOU WILL GET 2 PACKAGES! PACKAGE #1 will be the lamp itself, and PACKAGE #2 will be the shade, carefully padded in a separate box, for safe transit. No dull white background stock photo.
